I love this light. It is small and I control it from an app on my phone–can use all colors with controlled intensity and brightness. I recommend it. One thing I didn’t know when I bought the SO3 is that there’s an upgrade, S05, that has a control strip right on it. I may have liked that one, too. If I get a second one I’ll probably get that one.

Got one after my friend showed me his (different model and brand, but same idea) and then I found this one and decided to try it out. It’s a very simple and easy to use LED – the charge lasts for most of the day and the App is easy to figure out once you check out what all the different buttons do. Can be used for bright or soft natural or colored light effects and is small so it isn’t heavy or taking up a lot of space in my gear bag. For $25 I’m glad I got one for photoshoots.

The Weeylite SO3 RGB Video Light may not be as full featured or be as bright as alternative lights, but it is very hard to beat in the value. I do a lot of night photography and wanted a portable light that is remotely controllable without spending a lot of money. The light is a very simple device that easily connects to the mobile app, and provides a great deal of RGB and intensity adjustability, which is why I bought it. Another great feature is that you can control multiple lights at the same time, which really increases it’s usability. One caveat is that, while the app shows that the light intensity can be lowered by 1% gradients, in use, there is little difference in intensity from 1% to 10%. This was a bit of a disappointment, however, I believe that for most purposes, the very low light intensity may not be as big of an issue. This is the second Weelite product I have purchased and they come well packaged and seem to be well made. I will probably keep the little light as I can easily manipulate the light intensity with filters, and for the price, with all its features, it is hard to beat.

these little lights are overachievers. I’ll say this really quick: 1 is not enough you’re just going to want a few more for the price. They’ve become my go-to lights for staging my food photography/product shoots. Also they work great for backlighting, key lighting for vlogs.I wasn’t sure I liked the MOBILE APP to be the only way to operate the lights but after a day or so using them it becomes an after thought. The Weeylite Pro App is very user friendly and the options you get are plentiful. Just turn on your lights and the app and they instantly group to the first channel. If your want to move to different channels just select that channel and turn the light back on and it becomes that channel/ group.Don’t expect to throw light all over the room but you can very well do that with multiple lights.The app allows for multiple lights on the same channel or you create groups.In closing I’ll say: GREAT LITTLE LIGHTS

I have a few other lights from Weeylite but couldn’t pass up this little S03 given it’s small size and low price.Like my other Weeylites, this one can be fully controlled by an app that gives you access to fully adjustable color and brightness using a variety of colorimetric models. And it has a lot of flashy/fun modes too. What makes it different from the others is that it can only be controlled by the app, since by itself the light can only be turned on and off, and when on is at full brightness and middle of the color temperature scale.If you have a small or special project this light might be enough on its own for you, but where it really shines (no pun intended) is when used in combination with other lights, especially other Weeylites, since each light can have its own channel within the app and so you can control and adjust everything from a single location.Haven’t tried using it as an external battery pack, but I assume that works as described. And at full brightness this little S03 isn’t as bright as some of the other more expensive units. But it’s tiny and lightweight and flexible and as you can see from the sample pics, can easily adjust the mood or create creative highlights in any photo. Another really nice, flexible and inexpensive lighting product for my camera kit bag.

I used this Weeylite for various photographic projects and I’m very happy with the end results. I do allot of Micro photography, and these lites a premium in capturing the conspect & active conditions I wish to illustrate. I prefer the App drive Weeylite, sense I can be away from the physical lite itself, and make adjustment rather than fiddle around try to adjust the lite by hand an at the same time preserving the composition, an affect I’ve created. Using this model of Weeylite, I can place it in very tight areas, and remotely make ALL and ANY Adjustments I want. The positioning of this model light can be as close as 5mm to the subject. Also, I have used it with less than 1/4 of its LED illuminated on my subject, the other 3/4 of LED/Light is masked off. This light is very versatile, useful, and best of all it’s has many lighting options. I have other Cube lites, but they don’t even come close to the functionality as this lite does.. considering my application(s). I would’ve added more photos in this review, but for some reason I was only able to get 1 uploaded. If I would have had this lite 50 years ago it would’ve save allot of time and effort. Note: this may not be the best choice for those who want to light themselves up for the Camera- friends and family etc., But out does a hell of a job for MICRO photography. I could easy see people using this light in Product photography, for some seriously creative senses/illustrations. I have a photo studio with Hot lights, and FLASH units that cost $1000’s of dollars, but they have there limitations in this area of photography. I really can’t attest to the Battery life, because the light is only used for a very short time once the seen it set, the lite is used less than 5 minutes, providing me with various light patterns, brightness, and colors therein.I would say this lite has lots of photographic potential, and provide basically a unlimited lighting variations.This lite is not made for Lighting a “Full Seen” of an Automobile Production shot! On the other hand, the other model with the onboard adjustments is really best suited for People and whatever it is they do Bolgs, selfies & more selfies…Lol Hopefully, this gives you some ideal of what this light is capable of. I’ll probably have 3-4 of these by the end of the year. They are FANTASTIC in my MICRO PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECTS, and Art works.
