This was soooooo good and is definitely severely underrated. The Mystery/Thriller genre is one of my favorites, but I often find I can figure out “whodunnit” within the first quarter of the book. Twenty Years Later had me thinking I had it all figured out, only to have Charlie Donlea completely and utterly rip the rug out from under me. And right when you think you got the big twist, it’s not over! This was the first book I’ve read by Donlea and it certainly will not be the last! How have I not seen anyone talking about this book?!

This novel is highly satisfying by combining the usual thriller components with twist after twist. The main characters have flaws while still likeable. Feel challenged as a reader in determining who the real murderer is as it is not obvious, nor is it a fringe character. The general storyline is enjoyable too.

It took me reading one half of the book before it got interesting for me. But after that it took off. Was twists and turns galore, it is a page turner for sure. In the end, nothing that I thought or imagined would be the end result was true. If you start reading this book and find the first several chapters boring or not interesting, I encourage you to keep turning the pages. It does get interesting enough that you do not want to put the book down.

I loved everything about this book. The choice of using a time in history that nobody would ever forget and including not just a murder , but betrayal , friendship, love AND hatred . Forgiveness and the ever so popular “getting even “ also …genius! The ending was SPECTACULAR !Well done Charlie .
