The book is fun and motivating to read. The stories are short enough to be motivated to read one more whenever you have some free time, the summary and vocabulary parts really support learning something new with every story and the quiz in the end of each is fun and reassuring. If another edition with more stories will be published I’ll buy it!

This isa great book for those who are getting started in the study of the Turkish language. The stories are written in a simple way and are easy to understand, and after each one there is a vocab list and asome comprehension questions. Please bear in mind you should complement it with some textbook, as there are no grammar explanations included.

Mi è piaciuta la varietà dei racconti e l’utile glossario-vocabolario al termine di ogni storia sebbene ovviamente risulti un po’ ’ più scomodo consultarlo nel formato e-book. Inoltre sono presenti anche un riassunto in lingua turca e inglese di ciascuna storia. Il livello è medio e presume una conoscenza grammaticale di base. Io lo consiglio vivamente a chi si sta cimentando nello studio di questa bellissima lingua

So surprised that the stories are actually well-crafted with language-learning in mind. Completely satisfied with this little book. It lives up to its claims perfectly, and the clever plots of the little stories exceeded expectations.

I’m so glad I could get my hands on this. This is the kind of resource that’s often lacking when learning a new language: having the opportunity to read it in context, at a level of understanding accessible to the beginner, while being challenged just enough to learn new words and grammatical concepts through reading alone. There’s also a convenient system of vocabulary lists following the texts, so as not to spend time poring through a dictionary with the ever-so-present risk of getting lost in it, and questions to test your understanding of the story.Overall a very very good book. Kudos to the authors for the great work!

It’s been very hard to find any reasonable reading material for learning Turkish. This book is my best find so far! I’ve been learning Turkish for about 3-4 hours per week (plus homework) for the past 6 months and this book is perfect for my level as it’s both reasonably challenging and yet not overwhelmingly difficult. I hope to be able to find more materials like that once I’m through with this book.

The sentence structure is good for beginners and novice readers. The mini quiz and the minis dictionary behind each story is very handy during studying. My only issue is some of the stories are sad and can be a bit depressing. A teaching material should be uplifting and encouraging not a tear jerker in my opinion.

And it works. To make the Turkish alphabet accessible, transcriptions are provided in the form of transliteration and conventional signs used for transcription. In addition to the English translation below each story, the summaries follow a synopsis in Turkish and in English, along with questions (and answers) about the text, ably assisting knowledge of what was just read. Taking it slowly, step by step with practice, Turkish words and the accompanying excellent short stories become accessible!The technique is solid and the lessons well taught. This is a very fine introduction to Turkish vocabulary that may arise when you visit Turkey or simply conversing and understand the Turkish population here at home.
