    great way to practice

Got this to practice with my children. I’m happy with it and had a good time with it.

    Nice DIY kit

I plan to build this for my twin 4-year old grandchildren. This would be a gift with grandpa’s personal touch which can be bought from store! Although the parts are tiny but I think I can still manage it. It is nice DIY kit with a nice idea.

Very cool little piano/keyboard/synthesizer, assemble and solder

The media could not be loaded.

This is such a cool and fun little music board that looks like a grand piano and is made to teach and practice the art of soldering electronics. My husband considered himself an expert solderer but said putting this together was a humbling experience. He made 3 errors in soldering and was able to correct 2 of them but wasn’t able to fix the third (the SW7 key, Celesta, no longer works) but this was totally due to him messing it up. He said he learned a lot about soldering from putting this together. It’s fascinating and we spent about 15 minutes just playing the different programmed in tunes with different styles like piano, guitar, music box and more. There are a lot of songs programmed in, no way to tell how many but it seems like a lot. It’s like a little synthesizer in that you can create all kinds of effects with it, including drums and cymbals. You can also create your own tune and record it and play it back. Comes with everything you need except a soldering iron and flux. Required 3 AA batteries, not included. Not sure about this for kids, maybe a teenager, since it does require using a hot soldering iron, but it’s great little gift for a guy and it’s very reasonably priced.

    Great practice

A fun (to me, at least) and relatively inexpensive way to practice your soldering skills before trying to repair or modify any expensive electronic equipment. Hopefully everything goes right and it works the first time, but if not, it’s small and simple enough board that you check each point and track down the problem spot, which is a great practice for when you have to troubleshoot larger boards.

    Great Solder Practice kit

Got into doing models that require soldering for assembling because they light up and have circuitry that needs soldered such as the battery box and switch for turning on and off. With this kit, the piano has the same type of soldering a speaker, keys, on/off switch and if you need solder practice these types of kits offer just that. For beginners or those who have projects that want the solder to look smooth not a big blob. Recommended for hobbyists and electrical makers in your family or just for a fun activity.

    It doesn’t teach you much

I got this because I have always been interested in how to solder, but it doesn’t teach you much. It is really cool after you get it put together, and it has instructions on how to put it together, but no instructions on how to solder. It says “learn to solder” in the title. It would be nice also if it came with some solder as well, or some kind of starter kit to be able to put it together.

    Fun and educational

I have been wanting to learn electronics and soldering for a while, and when I saw this, I thought it would be a good project while learning. This project has 38 identical 4 prong push buttons, so an opportunity to learn by repetition soldering the same thing multiple times. The fact that it has everything you need for the project short of actual soldering equipment and supplies makes it easy to get started. I haven’t gotten my soldering iron yet, so I can’t testify to the results, but it seems like a very fun project and will result in something that’s more engaging than simply turning on an LED bulb. I’m excited to work on this.

    Nice kit

If you are looking for an intermediate electronics project, this is a pretty good one. The switches snap into the board easily which makes soldering fairly easy if you have some experience. It includes the schematic which is a great touch. Since the traces are fairly easy to follow, this can help close the loop on learning how the system works. It also helps tremendously with troubleshooting should you have a bad connection somewhere. I would highly recommend this project to someone looking for some additional soldering practice.

    Interesting

I soldered all the buttons and put a battery in and it worked initially. Don’t know what happened because seconds later it just stopped working. You’re going to need wire cutters and wire strippers for the battery installation. Make sure you have tweezers as well to hold the wires in place so you don’t burn your hands. This was my first time soldering and the instructions were pretty simple to follow. You will also need a small phillips head screwdriver/something to tighten bolts, 3AA batteries and a soldering tool obviously.

Great simple soldering practice/teaching kit, but no soldering supplies

This is a GREAT little kit for soldering practice! It comes with all components (PCB, switches, battery holder, speaker, etc.) but you need your own soldering iron and supplies (like solder, flux, etc.) – and you also already need to know at least the idea of how to *do* the soldering, since there’s not much in the way of instruction. But you can learn all that on YouTube really easily if you don’t already know. It’s a little bigger than I realized from the photos – 7″ on the long sideI think this is ideal as a practice kit for someone who is just getting into assembling hand-built electronics – I can see this being great for a classroom setting, a makerspace outreach thing, a STEM/STEAM project kit – and when it’s finished, there’s a functional musical instrument! This really is excellent.

I am glad I got this, I learned a lot.

Tingbowie Soldering Practice Kit Learn to Solder Kits Soldering Project Kit DIY Electronic Project Learning Circuit Solder Board (Piano2)First impressions: Nice board with a sufficient amount of switches to install.Installation/setup: Install switches by soldering to the computer board.Final thoughts: I would have liked more instruction. I am a total beginner and really struggled to get the switches attached properly. I had a bad solder iron and cheap solder and it didn’t go well at first. I watched some videos and they suggested tinning the holes in the board first before adding the switches. I don’t know if it would help, but I would try it. I did finally get the switches installed using a proper iron and some good solder. The board worked and the music worked. I am glad I got this, I learned a lot.⭐️1 star – I don’t recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars – I don’t recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars – It’s passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars – Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars – Product that I totally recommend.

Great kit to introduce teens / beginners to soldering

I ordered this as a father son project to teach soldering techniques. There is enough solder parts to allow an instructor to actively demonstrate and one or two teens or new learners to practice and improve their soldering skills. A great way to build confidence in using a soldering iron and actually creating a cool and functioning battery powered electronic instrument with several different tones / sounds, built-in demos, and a simple sequencer. Does not come with a soldering iron or solder, but a great and satisfying project if you already have the required tools and would like to teach or practice soldering techniques. Recommended!

    Cool

I haven’t really got around to using this yet, but I really like the idea. I learn best in a hands-on sort of way and it really helps to actually make something that works in the end. I cant wait to get started on this little kit, I think it’s going be fun. It’s a big bucket of roofing screws. Had a couple of screws that were bad, but that happens with any brand in my experience. Used for putting metal roofing on my off-grid cabin and I had plenty. How My Star Rating System Works & What They Mean:1 STAR – Pretty much junk and I would return and ask for a refund if I could.2 STAR – It works, but barely meets the minimum requirements it should in order to keep it and not return it, but I would not order again.3 STAR – It does what it was designed to do, but there’s nothing really special about it. It’s acceptable but not great.4 STAR – I am very comfortable recommending it to a friend because it is is well made, durable, and delivers on its advertised features, and I would buy it again.5 STAR – I really love it. The item exceeds my expectations of quality, durability and functionality. Not only would I purchase it again, but I would also actively encourage friends and family to to do the same. All of my reviews are my own personal opinion and are completely honest no matter if I receive an item for free or I pay for it. I am an avid Amazon shopper, as well as an Amazon Vine Voice and I personally rely on reading reviews to make all of my buying decisions, so I understand the importance of honest reviews from my peers.

    Great for learning to solder!

I’d never done any electronics soldering, and needed something cheap to practice on. It’s 99% soldering the buttons on, and 1% soldering 4 wires. My first 10 joints were garbage, but by the end I had it down. It’s a fun toy, and plays a bunch of sounds. Overall, it’s a great 1st project.I would recommend this for anyone that is old enough to use a soldering iron responsibly.

    Decent project

This doesn’t come with instructions. I’m trying to learn to solder and thought this would be a great project to learn from but with no instructions I had no idea what I was doing. I had to find help from someone who knew what to do to complete it. If you have experience soldering then I recommend buying but if not, I would find something else.

    Fantastic Test Board

Prior to this board, I had about 15 minutes of actual experience with soldering, but due to some Arduino projects I’m working on I knew I needed to get some experience. This board was phenomenal in giving me some real experience with soldering and I definitely learned some things along the way. If you don’t have any experience, this is definitely the test kit to get!

    Nice kit

You will only be soldering thirty or so buttons. The one IC is soldered for you. Not exactly challenging. The finished project is a fun musical toy.

Not a good soldering practice project.

Thought it would be interesting to build this and keep up with soldering techniques. Unfortunately the only thing to solder on this board are the buttons. Not much for polishing up soldering techniques. After assembling it the sound quality and function isn’t the greatest. Save your money and get something a little more interesting to build.

    Cute Little project.

No instructions with this but it’s pretty self explanatory. Great little project to learn soldering.

    Good practice

This soldering kit has many buttons to work with. The main chip is already on the board so all the practice would not break the little chip. The final product is nice and can make beautiful music.
