Completely gripping psychological suspense
Sarah Morgan is a successful and powerful defense attorney in Washington D.C. At 33 years old, she is a named partner at her firm and life is going exactly how she planned.
The same cannot be said for her husband, Adam. He is a struggling writer who has had little success in his career. He begins to tire of his and Sarah’s relationship as she is constantly working.
Out in the secluded woods, at Adam and Sarah’s second home, Adam engages in a passionate affair with Kelly Summers.
Then, one morning everything changes. Adam is arrested for Kelly’s murder. She has been found stabbed to death in Adam and Sarah’s second home.
Sarah soon finds herself playing the defender for her own husband, a man accused of murdering his mistress.

I blindly selected this book as my choice for my book club monthly selection. I absolutely loved this book. I found myself yelling at the characters in this book. The author really brought the characters to life. I would highly recommend this book and I am looking forward to a lively discussion with my Book Club members.

Let me start by saying that I am not an active reader, or at least I wasn’t. One of my 2024 goals is to read more. This was my first book of the new year and I read it in less than a week! For me, that is HUGE! I have ADHD so sitting still and completing anything is a milestone. LOL I love that this book is told from the perspective of two characters, switching it up helped keep me enticed. A definite page turner. I had a couple of suspicions through out the book but I can say about 3/4ths of the way in I still didn’t know for certain how it was going to end. It wasn’t till the last few chapters that I was like “It has to be “X”!” but even then Jeneva Rose threw in a another plot twist and dropped a big bombshell that I had to read over and over because I couldn’t believe it. Fantastic ending! Cannot wait to read more from her.

This book was amazing. It was definitely not what I was expecting and multiple times along the way I thought I knew what was coming next and then suddenly a twist came that I didn’t see coming. It is a great psychological suspense read and will keep you guessing along the way. I couldn’t put it down.

I haven’t read a book this good in a long time. My cousin said it was apart of her book club so I invested not knowing what to expect… never even heard of this book. Now it’s all I’ve been talking about. I didn’t expect to read this book in 13-14 hours! I literally could not put it down. I was so tired…but I still couldn’t put it down because of the twists and turns and plot twists! It felt like I had binge watched a Netflix series! When describing what happened to my fiancé he said that it was so detailed he would’ve thought I watched a movie. LolIf you’re looking for a good…no GREAT READ. This is it. You won’t be disappointed. But you must clear your day because I’m telling you…you will not be able to close the book. Every time I tried I found myself opening it back up a few minutes later. Because WHAT THE did I just read?!10 stars from me! Give me more please! Thank you Jeneva Rose!

I read this book and one day I had gotten a sample and wasn’t sure I would like this kind of book but the mystery of it and the twist interns are fantastic. Every page was filled with mystery. Sex and lies. Sarah is a lawyer, and a very good one, but her husband Adam had an affair with a woman that went on for 16 months. Kelly was murdered in the bed that her and Adam had just had sex in. Adam had gotten up, but Kelly was still asleep. He climbed back in bed with her a while but then he decided to go home then he gets a knock at his door and there’s detectives and police there to arrest him and charge him for the murder of his mistress. Kelly Adam is adamant that he did not kill her Ann doesn’t know who to turn to so he calls his mother and then calls his wife the attorney Sarah and begs her to help him. She is devastated to find out that Adam has been having this wild affair for that long but she’s determined to do her best to get him off of the charges because if he’s convicted, he will spend time in prison and then get the death penalty. there’s so much mystery and confusing ideas that float through my head about who knows about this and who is conspiring to either hide it, or cover it up but things don’t always turn out the way that you think it does excellent read
