B Lynn BarkerB Lynn Barker –
Loved the descriptions! I felt like I was in the river trying to hook a “monster”. And reading The Forge, I had goose bumps hearing the crackling of the fire, feeling the heat & smelling the burning forest. Intense & exciting! These stories are very spiritual in a sense. As an older person, I appreciate the beauty & tranquility of nature.

Minnesota has always held a special place in my heart and soul, and Sanctuary takes me there.
Sloane Graff –
Sanctuary is J. Kent Gregory’s first book and we hope it will not be his last. Comprised of several short stories and a novella, Gregory uses his palette to paint stories of physical and emotional depth. Set primarily in outdoor settings, the stories use physical places as backdrops for human dramas. Gregory writes in a crisp, lean manner that captures an amazing amount of atmosphere. The reader experiences the smells and sounds and sights of a place. Stylistically, one of the most intriguing aspects of his stories is that they often have an intriguing ambiguity to them. The reader is provided with hints of what the main character in a story is escaping from or going towards, but what that is is often not explicitly stated. This allows the reader to have their own dialogue with the narrative, which this reader found refreshing. All in all, a delightful little tome.
