It looks exactly as pictured if not a little nicer. I love the translucent bin for the food so i can see it getting low and know if it needs to be refilled. It takes batteries but I haven’t used its battery function but in case of a power outage or something it’s a good way to keep your settings from screwing up.The metal basin can be removed for cleaning and underneath is a plastic basin. The top of the feeder has a locking function and so does the main section which has been great for my cat who has a habit of ripping the top off of my old one.It has a up to 9 feeding times and up to 5 servings per feeding. Plus it has a cute voice recorder that you can use to personalize and make the process more natural for your pet.Finally, the reason i got this in the first place, it’s capable of dispensing those freeze-dried food bits that are larger than the typical kibble size. I use a kibble and freeze dried mix so this has made that sooooo much easier and less of a hassle.I’ve been using it for a little over a week and currently have nothing bad to say about it. I will say that the serving sizes are larger than i was expecting but that’s easily adjustable with the settings I mentioned earlier

This was really easy to set up and I love the voice feature. It does dispense the food before the recording kicks in so most of the time my cat can hear the food hitting the metal bowl but if he’s asleep and misses it, he can hear the recording from anywhere in the house. The best feature for me is that the lid locks on. The old one I had, the lid just set on it. If I’m gone to long or if my cat gets mad at me, he knows how to knock the whole thing over and I’d come home to a huge mess. He hasn’t tried to knock this one down yet but if he does, I have peace of mind that the lid won’t come off and spill the food everywhere

I found this easy to assemble. I did need to concentrate on the directions to program the feeding schedule, but it wasn’t difficult, the directions were easy to understand. It works as promised and now my cat knows the sound of the recording and of the food going into the bowl and he knows it’s time to eat. My suggestion, just keep the instructions handy in case you want to adjust the feeding schedule or get an error code. After a month or so, you’ll get and error code to replace the freshness packet in the top of the feeder, just as a reminder. I had to look up how to clear the error code after replacing it. Easy to do, but I wouldn’t have known how without the instructions. My cat begs for food often, so this has really been a great product to get him used to a regular schedule.

This automatic pet feeder is very solidly built and performs admirably. The feeder is relatively easy to setup following the instructions given, though it took me a minute to realize the difference between the different program numbers, and the amount of food that would be dispensed. There also doesn’t seem to be a measurement guide in the booklet for what 1 unit of dispensed food means in real terms, though these are minor concerns in my opinion. It allows you to set up several meals per day, with variable portions per feeding. We have ours setup to provide 2 portions of food, twice a day at 11am and 11pm. The stainless steel bowl the food is dispensed into can be taken out easily for cleaning, and is nicely slanted so the food collects at the bottom, making it easy for my cat to eat the kibble. While I personally didn’t use this feature, you can record some audio that will be played at each feeding, which I imagine would be good to help training a pet to come when called.The hopper holds quite a lot of food, and I think with my usage for a single cat, I’ll only have to fill it up once a month. The hopper also has a dessicant packet in the lid which helps keep the food dry and stable between refills. There’s an alert that lets you know when the desiccant pack should be replaced, which is a nice feature. However, the method to let it know a pack has been replaced is absolutely not intuitive, and I will have to refer to the manual when that time does come. It involves holding down several buttons simultaneously after activating the panel. I can understand trying to keep buttons and the display to a minimum of information, but I think this is one time when either a separate button or some other intuitive process would have been preferable. Especially since this is something you’ll have to do regularly, but far enough apart that you’ll likely forget what you need to do by the time you have to do it again.The unit comes with a really nice charger with a anti-tangle cable, but it also uses 3 D batteries so that in case of a power outage, your pet will still get its meals. This is a great peace of mind feature for me!We worried at first that our cat might be scared by an automated dispensing of food, but he adapted very quickly. The first time it happened, he came running to see what was up, sniffed around a bit and ate a little right away. After a couple of weeks, if he’s excited he’ll come running, but if he’s sleepy, he’ll ignore the noise and just lift his head in acknowledgement. I know he enjoys the regularity, and he feels more food security as he doesn’t complain as much anymore when he finds his food bowl empty (or can see the bottom 😉 )All in all, I loved this feeder, our cat loved this feeder, and we’ll be using it for the foreseeable future!We had a previous cat feeder that was almost functionally identical to this one, except in a few ways which makes me feel like we’ll stick with this one (or end up using both if we end up getting a second cat). This model seems more solidly build, with components that are well designed and also look more modern and smooth. Additionally, the dispensing sounds are more muted, and has a number of alerts letting you know when to replace the desiccant, and even when the food hopper is empty, which is definitely nice to have.

Ordered this for the pets as I travel a lot and don’t always have a way to feed the pets while I am gone. This automatic pet feeder makes meal times easy for the pets even if you are home. Adjustable portion sizes and the ability to feed the pets nine times a day makes for happier pets (although they need to get out and lose some weight). This feeding system has made my life easier.Overall, a great way to feed your pets if you travel or want to sleep in.
