By the end of a short story, all the loose ends should be tied up in a neat bow so that you’re not left wanting more. This story did just that. It was a delightful read, the characters were interesting and unique, and the setting in the Galapagos was a good choice and described well.

i really enjoyed this book. I didn’t expect that I would. I don’t usually read romances, but I was in a mood, looking for something light, and because it in was listed as Kindle Prime’s first choice for the month, I impulsively downloaded it and began reading it immediately. I found it delightfully entertaining. It was well written and held my attention like a good mystery novel does. I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun, light (but realistic) read about the ups and downs of relationships.

I liked the mystery of her relationship with JP. I liked the description of all the characters. They instantly seemed real to me. The description of the trip made the Galapagos island real and I have always have wanted to go but haven’t gone so I at least have some pictures in my mind. At 87 I may not get to go.😊

This story started off like a romance, but along the way it took an interesting turn into a coming of age tale of a woman who finds herself alone after being abandoned at the airport just prior to her departure for a supposed romantic getaway with her boyfriend. What she discovers is inner strength and wisdom.Highly recommended story for women who love a surprise ending and find joy in self discovery. 5 stars!!

I didn’t know Elin Hilderbrand wrote books that weren’t set in Nantucket, but this one, which is characterized as a short story, was set in the Galapagos and was every bit as entertaining as her Nantucket books.This is a story about a woman who is suddenly forced to go on a trip by herself with people she doesn’t know, to a place she didn’t want to see, and ends up discovering that the things she thought she wanted in life, weren’t what she wanted at all.Even though this is novelette size, it is a terrific character study with a message: not everything is as it seems and it’s never too late to make a course correction.

I really enjoyed this story. It’s a charming and often amusing blend of internal monologue featuring New York real estate, Long Island, housewives, the Galápagos Islands, a B-rate ship of strangers-to-friends, and a romance-gone-missing. The main character has a unique way of looking at the world, and the people around her. Having been on a similar (though fortunately much nicer) nature trip in the Caribbean, the interactions between all of the different people felt very genuine, as well as the strong camaraderie they build over a short week. It’s like adult summer camp. I would enjoy reading more by this author.

This was an intriguing little story of romance and deception told with a background of a trip to the Galapagos Islands. When her boyfriend suggests this trip, Sophia is reluctant but things get really strange when he gets a phone call at the airport and has to go home but insists that she go on the trip alone and take pictures for him. We follow her through the guided tour and finally learn the truth as she prepares to return home. Elin Hilderbrand is a great story tell.

Is it what it seems? What will she discover?I love how this short story is set in the Galapagos Islands! The characters and storyline made it fun and entertaining! A quick and easy read! I highly recommend it!
