I live in Florida, and this is perfect for keeping ants out. I put a little water in the bottom, and voila, no ants. Highly recommend for that use.

My cat learned how to tip his bowls over, to the point I was mopping up water every day. This is perfect. He can’t tip them out of the main compartment anymore- speaking of, the compartment makes it super easy to remove the bowls for food and water and to clean. Definitely recommend.
