I bought these to light two staircases in our split-level home. They exceeded my expectations.I was worried they might not be bright enough, since I wasn’t entirely sure how bright “10 lumens” is. As it turns out, they provide the perfect amount of light. I used roughly one for every three steps, and they light the stairs perfectly. [I wouldn’t want them any brighter, as I think a brighter light might blind someone walking in the dark; these provide just the perfect amount of light.] I had one left over and used it in the powder room to help guests find the light switch. It can be a little difficult to see how these work from the photos, so here’s the scoop: The little “knob” you see is the motion sensor. The actual LED light shines downward from a little hole right underneath that sensor in the recessed area. The light then bounces off the large recessed panel (in the photos, this is the whitest part). This diffuses the light throughout a wide area, and the downward focus of the LED light means that it’s not blinding you. They really provide a remarkable amount of light, but in a gentle way.I installed them with 3M Picture Hanging Strips in medium size, which gave me the ability to reposition them without damaging my walls if the placement wasn’t quite right. I was pretty close on the placement, but ended up moving one that was catching motion in the kitchen and turning on when it wasn’t necessary. Using a temporary adhesive or a 3M product that won’t do permanent damage to your walls is a good idea; even if you want to use the permanent mounting screws (included), I’d strongly suggest trying out the placement for a few days to make sure you have them positioned correctly.Every time I head up the stairs and they turn on, I feel a smug grin coming on. ;-)Tip for those of you who are like me and start installing batteries without reading the instructions (you know who you are!): The lights won’t respond for the first 10 seconds or so after you install the batteries. It takes that long to initiate the sensors when batteries are first installed. Therefore, don’t make a fool of yourself waving your hands around and cursing that the darn things don’t work. They will work fine — just give them 10 seconds to initiate. After that, they will work quickly and dependably.I’ve only had them up for a little over a week, and I’ll amend my review if anything happens that changes my high opinion of these. Right now, however, I love them!

You never notice those little ‘dark’ areas in your home as the evening arrives. We get used to it. Our house has a staircase that becomes darker than adjoining rooms in the evening (or with mornings for that matter). We purchase a set of these several years ago and placed low on the walls of our steps. The emitted light is not overwhelming but just enough to navigate by in the evenings. Wow does that make a difference. These things pop on when we approach them and stay on long enough to reach the basement securely. The emitted light is not overwhelming but just enough to navigate by in the evenings. We also placed some in closets that have no lighting and they are perfect. A neighbor visited one evening an commented on how practical the ‘stair lights’ were. Of course she purchased a set. Our dog likes them too.The light activates when needed and stops when no motion is sensed. It uses 4 AA batteries that seem to last for 3 months depending on your night time activities. It does not activate in a lighted room. Comes with a mounting plate that can stick to a wall and holes for screws if needed.

When I moved, I didn’t realize until later that my new house had no outlet in the hallway. Weird. Couldn’t find any battery-operated nightlights in the stores. Found these on Amazon and they have worked out great! My 14-year old Cavalier has started having memory issues and was getting confused going to bed at night, and getting up early in the morning. Poor thing! She would get so turned around in the hallway, but now she follows the sensor lights to the bedroom, or down the hallway to the back of the house when she goes out in the morning. Plenty of lights in this order, that I was able to put one in my bedroom also in the garage. The one in the garage is for me so I can find the light switch and not hit the garage door switch by mistake! I hate a nightlight shining all night in bedroom, but my dog needed one because she likes to switch from sleeping on her bed to sleeping on the floor, a couple of times a night. In the dark, she would get turned-around and would not be able to find her way back to her bed. With the sensor light, I don’t have struggle to fall asleep with a light on, and my dog doesn’t stress-out at night. They do take 4 AA batteries each, but it has been over a month and they haven’t worn out yet. I do have one glitchy light that wouldn’t turn off once it sensored-on in the garage, but I switched it to the bedroom and now it works. I have no idea why that happened because the other light that I switched to the garage, sensors on and off, correctly. These lights are bright enough that they do light stairways and hallways. I like the way they angle down so they shine down instead of just straight across. They come with double-adhesive tape or screws, but my walls are textured and I didn’t think the adhesive would permanently hold. I used the screws which I think will make it easier to lift off when I have to change the batteries. If you use the tape, there is a plastic plate that the tape adheres to so it stays stuck to the wall and it enables you to slide the light off to change the batteries and slide the light back onto the wall. I didn’t want to struggle with trying to slide the light back onto the plate.

One of my favorite gift items. I love these lights and have ordered them twice. They are helpful at night. Motion triggers them and they stay on a reasonable time. Good for power outages too.

I originally purchased Mr. Beams in 2013 and then some more in 2015. I have 3 mounted on each flight of stairs, 2 in the upstairs hallway and 1 in several bathrooms; all mounted about shin height. We have also carried one with us when we travel for a night light in hotels or an RV. They have performed admirably. I like that they are removable to be used as mobile lighting as we have had multiple power failures. They are bright enough to maintain safety whilst walking around at night. Complaint? The battery connections often start to rust or corrode and if caught quickly can be sanded off with an emery board. They are now starting to go through batteries much quicker than before so we will be finding replacements.Though we will be replacing them with lights that can be recharged via a USB cable and unfortunately this company does not seem to make those.

I placed these in my garage so I would not have to burn the money sucking floodlights for prolong period of time. I pull into garage and my pathway lights all the way up to the garage door. Also if company comes over after dark and I’m not expecting them, soon as the get to the edge of my garage thier pathway to the garage door is visable, eliminating trip hazards and I can see clearly who is knocking ) ringing the doorbell. So I find it to be a great safety feature for everyone on my property 🙃Placed one inside a cabinet so when I open the door it automatically comes on and I can see without my shadow casting in my way.Placed another inside our gun safe for same reason as above.Easy to install and change out batteries when needed. They are really bright ( white light)****Update on 7/8/2023So we have had these lights a couple years now and they All still work perfectly. One of my favorite purchases and definitely have had others order these lights because they liked mine so much, do glad I got them! Thank you for a reliable product.

I did quite a bit of research on home security, digging into forums and looking for an effective way to protect my home. What I found was that next to a pair of dobermans, you can’t beat indoor motion sensors. I agree with that logic. Home alarm systems require being armed and disarmed whenever you leave the home, and they rely on your family/housemates to do the same. They can also be easily tripped and can quickly become a nuisance. Home security “systems” that lock you into a pay cycle simply call the police for you, which I don’t find effective or valuable. Indoor motion sensors double as effective home security and efficient night lights (only turning on when you’re around). I just installed these motion sensors tonight and I’m confident they will serve as great night lights as well as deterrents should anyone ever attempt to break into my home. So far they seem to work flawlessly. I have them near all the doors in the home and their range (about 10-12′) is ideal. They were also very easy to install. You’ll need one flathead screwdriver and each sensor can be installed in minutes. Our home isn’t that large so we found four of these to be ample, which means we have two spares that I’ll likely gift to a friend who recently just bought a home. I only purchased the six pack because they were the best value and I didn’t realize how much coverage you get from just four! I cannot rate the product in regards to battery life or wall-stick durability because I’ve just installed them today. The only marks against this product would be that they are rather bulky (not just in overall size but they stick out from the wall a good 2.5 inches or so), and each sensor takes 4 AA batteries. Unless you have a lot of batteries laying around the house I suggest you order a 20 pack along with the sensors. Overall: 5 stars, and definitely would buy again.

Purchased a 6-Pack of these MB726 LED motion sensor lights almost 2 years ago. They work as advertised, OFF during daylight, also OFF at night until motion sensor detection, then ON continually until motion stops, turns OFF about 30 seconds after motion not detected. The feature that’s most important to me is that these lights are very portable, you can place them on a flat surface anywhere and orient them in any direction. They’ll even work if you place them face down, although the motion sensor is less sensitive and you won’t get much light that way (unless that’s what you desire).I put 4 of these on flat surfaces in my garage for those times at night when I go in there from the kitchen for short brief periods during which I don’t want to reach over and turn on the garage light. The neat thing about these lights is you can very easily move them around to get the lighting effect you desire. And that’s what I did with the 4 lights in the garage, they’re not permanently mounted but instead they’re where l placed them, until I decide otherwise.Battery life is a long time, 1 to 2 years for my usage, as follows. Two lights are located very near the kitchen door and two lights are located at the other end of the garage. In the past 2 years I replaced the batteries only once in the kitchen door units about a year ago and just today (almost 1 year later) I replaced the batteries in the two at the other end of the garage. This is because the two near the kitchen door come ON more frequently during my few steps into the garage, while the other two are farther away from my motion and typically remain OFF (unless I walk to the other end of the garage, then all 4 turn ON). I go into the garage through the kitchen door numerous times during the day and night and the lights near the kitchen door still lasted at least a year before battery replacement. Note: my big garage door is normally closed during the day and the garage windows are covered with curtains and cardboard so it’s normally dark in the garage during the day so these sensor lights always turn ON during the day with motion detection. So yeah, battery life is great in my opinion.I put the 5th one on a shelf in my home office to give me a little light as I enter. And the 6th one I use in my RV Travel Trailer. Like I said these units are very portable, you can place them on a flat surface anywhere, that’s how I use them. Or you can also mount them permanently to a wall using the included bracket. They’re great little motion sensor lights!

Bought the 6-pack to create a lighted pathway for my 90+ yr old Mom in her house from bedroom to family room and they work fantastic! Great brightness, great motion sensitivity, easy to install and easy to change batteries. BUT YOU HAVE TO CHECK YOUR BATTERIES!! Like any battery operated device that drains all the juice out of a battery, battery leakage can be an issue (not just Mr. Beams). I installed all 6 of these in December 2020, and on September 1 2021 (10 months later) all but one of them were still lighting up so I decided to pull them all of the walls and check them. I used AA store brand batteries in all (major membership store) and this is what I found: 2 of the lights had major battery leakage (white crusty powder along bottom edge and a little pile of it under the light on the floor with battery “jell” inside the housing, the other 4 (all of which were still lighting up) the batteries were under 1 volt, like .7 and lower. So, I cleaned out the two with leakage (baking soda to neutralize the acid) and put fresh “copper top” batteries in all, and they all are working fine. Again, the battery leakage was not the fault of Mr. Beams because battery life depends on usage and my Mom’s house is a little dark so every time anyone walks past the lights the usually go on (even during the day) so the lights get maximum usage. I was hoping to get 12 months out of each set of batteries, but now I’ll be checking them every 6-7 months. With premium batteries and maybe 6-7 months between battery changes that is a bit of work and a bit of money, but, knowing that my Mom will never have to walk through the house “in the dark” (even if there is a power failure) is definitely worth the effort and cost.I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Beams – but again, as with any battery operated device, don’t forget to check batteries regularly.FYI: I also have two of the outdoor Mr. Beams motion security lights, had them over 3 years and working great! (MB3000-BRN-01-00)

I love these Mr. Beams nightlights. I first bought 6 in 2012. Added 6 more in 2020. My wife’s 96-year-old mother is going to be moving in with us and I thought I’d add even more coverage. I have them in most rooms and hallways. When I get up in the middle of the night to walk to the bathroom, one illuminates in the bedroom, positioned perfectly to not shine in my wife’s eyes, but still illuminate the floor. Walk into the bathroom and the one I have sitting on top of the shower stall, pointing up to the ceiling, instantly illuminates and provides soft, indirect lighting for the bathroom. If I leave the bedroom and walk to the kitchen, one after another illuminates my path. It’s nice not to have to keep flipping switches, and at night you don’t want strong, harsh light to jar you back awake. We live in an area with lots of trees and frequent thunderstorms. And occasional ice storms. Several times/year we have power outages. Most are resolved within a few hours, but we had a winter storm that caused a 4-day power outage, and a thunderstorm/wind storm that knocked us out for 2 days. With Mr. Beams throughout the house, it makes it much less of a burden. You still need light if you’re going to be in the same room for a while; I have other battery powered lights for that. But to just move around the house at night, these are perfect.Buyers need to understand the cost. You will have to buy the Mr. Beams themselves; I find buying a 6-pack to be the most economical approach, by far. But each Mr. Beams will require 4 AA batteries. You could constantly buy alkaline batteries, but after a few replacements, you would have reached the breakeven point of rechargeables. My advice is just to bite the bullet and buy rechargeables (and a charger or two (or three!) if you don’t already have them). I just bought my third 6-pack of Mr. Beams and simultaneously bought 24 more eneloop rechargeables. They’re a bit pricier than other brands, but they last. And last! I’m still using eneloops I bought 15 years ago.The other thing you need to appreciate is that you will need to replace/recharge batteries on a regular basis. I usually wait until one of the Mr. Beams starts getting dim. At that point, I’ll get 4 charged batteries and replace them, then go recharge the depleted ones. I’ll usually then take that opportunity to repeat the process with several more Mr. Beams. If the thought of recharging batteries every couple months seems repugnant to you, then you might not enjoy owning these. Personally I don’t find it to be a hassle at all; it’s just something I do periodically, and it only takes a minute.Tip: The battery compartment door is secured with two plastic screws. Constantly opening and closing the doors WAS a hassle, more than doubling the amount of time battery replacement takes. So I removed them and tossed them in a junk drawer. Problem solved, and the doors stay snapped in place. Or at least they would, if I used them. Which I don’t! I removed the doors, too. (Big junk drawer) They really aren’t necessary. Just attach the mounts to your wall, then the Mr. Beams light easily attaches to the two hooks on the mount. The springs hold the batteries in place just fine, and these aren’t in motion. Just put the batteries in and hang it on the wall. Not using the doors cuts battery replacement time in at least half, probably more. And it was the biggest hassle to battery replacement.Obviously as an owner of 18 of these, I’m a big fan and highly recommend. They’re quality built and I’ve never had a single issue with any of them.
