I’ve been following Sarah for awhile in Instagram. When I learned she was coming out with this book, I knew I had to get it. And I was not disappointed. It’s beautifully written and easy to follow. Definitely would recommend if you’re interested in working with metallic waterpaints.

This book is so helpful! I like that it is so informative and really detailed! The pages in the back that are on watercolor paper are so fun! There are lots of projects and tutorials to help those who have never used watercolors to those who have used them before but can’t letter to save their life (me). This book is as titled MARVELOUS. The how to’s are super easy to follow and is a great learning guide for beginning artists. The author clearly thought of every little detail. The variety of designs is amazing. There are pages you can paint on directly and is really good quality paper. This would be a great gift for anyone who wants to get into watercolors.

I love that each project is step by step and at the end there are even pages you can paint directly into. I wasn’t sure how to use metallic watercolors before this book but it gave me clear instructions and helped me to understand how metallic watercolors were different from matte watercolors. The cover also has a metallic look to it. Overall the book was very well written. I like how there is a mix between lettering projects and other illustration projects. One of my favorite parts was how there were different lettering styles to follow. I’m going to get this book for a few of my artsy friends for Christmas.

I was so happy to find my preordered book on my step on November 1st. This book was even more than I hoped for. It had very clear directions on how to use metallic watercolors. The explanation on water amounts was very helpful. I love that it had some letter work, as well as project work. I love that it had pages that are thick enough to paint right in the book. I love that she shared a tracing template for all the projects. The material list showed where to locate the materials and had price points for reference. This is a great resource.

Love this book. There are so many tips and tricks form supplies to hand lettering! Sarah’s work is absolutely gorgeous and I appreciate that her book is so easy to follow. Lots of practice pages. Lots of suggestions on paints, brushes, papers…. Including price points for all skill levels. The hand lettering with practice tips is an added bonus!! And, I love the practice watercolor exercises; great to use when you just want to “play”. This is a useable, fun book you will keep and refer to often. AND, it feels good… the cover is thick and smooth with the metallic paints shining in the light as you move the book in different angles. The 168 pages are also made with a smooth, thicker paper.
