I had to get a new router with a new password. I called the toll free # and Jeff took the call. I can’t express how helpful he was. With his help I was able to reset my new password and again activate my 3 smart plugs. He was helpful, patient took step by step with me, didn’t rush thru the calls (actually 42 minutes), easy to communicate with. Very happy with the company (Kasa) and the representative. 5 stars

This was my second Smart plug The first one was an Amazon smart plug. The kaza Smart plug works well after it is set up on the network if the network changes in any way you have to reset up this device and it can be along process because a lot of times it fails but once it’s working it stays working even after power outagesI would definitely purchase another product for them actually this is a TP link product and I’ve had a very good results with their customer service and troubleshooting so I would recommend this product but just be aware you might have to set the device up againSo for the initial setup you have to be on 2.4 wireless you cannot be on 5G or 6G once the device is paired on the network it will work on a 5G network

I needed a few smart plugs and the ones by Kasa looked really good. I already bought one of their light bulbs and using their app, pairing it was unbelievably easy and took literally seconds to do. I did not have to turn on and off the light bulb over and over and over and over, as I had to do with Sengled and other brands. The app connects the plugs to the Alexa app as well, automatically. It literally took 3 minutes to activate a smart plug because the app does it all by itself. It even stores your complex Wi-Fi password for future use. That is not the case with other apps I have. All Kasa products I have used so far are within the simplified Matter standard, making my installation so simple. As a side note, I bought them used and just like the Amazon app says, they were literally “like new.”not even a microscopic mark or scratch. I’m going to be buying further Amazon products that way.I am telling you, the Kasa app it’s nothing like the difficult apps of other brands that take so long to both understand and to connect.Yes things are getting a lot better technologically.Feel free to order anything by TP Link or Kasa because they’re priced nicely and you will not have any issues at all.

I have used several different brands of cheap smart home wifi direct products. TP-Link has hands down been the most reliable. Wemo-too many frequently required updates in-order to operate. Feit Electric- Wont stay connected to Wifi. Geeni- Wont stay connected to wifi. The only con I have had with TP-Link is occasionally I would have one that is difficult to setup in the first place. But once it is setup, I have very very rarely had any problems when trying to use them. MAYBE one issue in 6 months when trying to turn a bulb or plug on versus the previously mentioned competition averaging 3 issues PER MONTH. I am slowly transitioning to TP-Link only smart products.

1 minute setup, easily set up timers, connected to Alexa (but not consistently/I’m trying to troubleshoot that) and with a reassuring build and finish. And cheap!

This Smart Plug is sturdily built and designed to handle 15 amps. Great price too. It has a on/ off button on the side in case you need to operate it manually. Set up was easy upon downloading the Kasa app to get the smart plug communicating on my WiFi network. After that, the smart plug was immediately recognized by the Google Home app. This product includes links to TP Link for technical support in the printed documentation. I am using McAfee anti virus on my Android phone and I had to shut off Safe Browsing and the VPN during initial setup. I am using this Smart Plug to control a hot water recirculation Pump so the pump doesn’t run at night or while we are away.

Excellent product. Installed in under 90 seconds. SUPER easy install. Cell phone app is very very easy to use. I’m using this outlet for my window air conditioner. I will turn it on from work 45 minutes before getting home so it’s cool. Tested it and it works perfect.Recommend the Kasa WiFi bulbs as well. Control your lights via your cell too. Different colors and you can set timers to fade lights in and out at certain times. At 6am my overhead lights dim on for 30 seconds. It’s awesome.

More and more I’ve been finding myself surprised by TP-Link and their smart-home offerings. This is no different. The plug is easy to set up and has energy monitoring, which is the draw here. For a small and easy to use smart plug, this thing has been fantastic for my smart home automation flow. It integrates super easily with voice assistants, but more importantly? It works with Home Assistant, with energy monitoring included.Unlike most other smart plugs, I just shoved this thing, set it up in my app, and was on my way. It was picked up by the appropriate devices and, with little to no setup effort, was working wonderfully. Not at all disappointed with my purchase.

The media could not be loaded. Setup was (compared to other smart plugs I’ve used) pretty straight forward. There were several steps, but I only had to attempt the setup once per device (I ordered 2) and it worked the first time, so that was a win! Even though the units were brand new, I did have to do a firmware update on each of them, which added a minute or so per device to the setup time.Once I had created an account with the required app, signed in via the app I had to download (kasa app) and entered my wifi password into this app (choose your security risk adventure yourself) everything worked well.I used this to put a pair of lights on one plug and on the other I connected it to a woodburning stove fan.Added both in a room, and customized the name for each item.Adding them to Alexa was easy, after one item was added to alexa, (enabled in the Kasa app) after I initially added the second device to the kasa app, that named device was automatically added to Alexa.transcript of my video review follows(note I was a good distance away from Alexa device so when I have alexa turn things on and off, I had to turn my head to speak more clearly, which has nothing to do with these plugs and their app)This is a 2 pack Smart Plugs they work with the Kasa app and they tell you to download that. In here they’ve got an on off button. I actually write that on the plug because months, years later if I move around or even if I move to a different house or something like that, it helps me to remember which plug goes with which app.And so on. But about to get these set up. I’m actually replacing some others that from a different source that didn’t make it possible to upload the Wi Fi when changed Wi Fi devices. Hopefully these will have some better options for updates. Got it all set up. App wasn’t too difficult to connect to.And had to do an update, firmware update. And then after that I was, I was able to connect it to the Alexa app. Alexa, turn off the front lights. Okay. Alexa, turn off the front lights. Okay. Alexa, turn on the front lights. Okay. I then set up the second one. It was easier than the first because the app already had my Wi Fi password. And that’s a warning. You will need to input your Wi Fi password eventually. Plus allow for a location setting. And maybe some scheduling type stuff, so consider that whether or not you want to do that. After all that, I was able to connect this to Alexa as well. The second one went faster than the first.Alexa, turn on the stove fan.Alexa, turn on the stove fan. And just getting ready to start a fire, so I got stuff in the wood burning stove, but I wanted to get the fan on the thing. Pretty cool that it works.
