Zara’s groom left her at the altar for his ex. He then hired her to work at their company. At their company’s gala she saw them together and grab August for a kiss and beg him to go along. They were caught by the paparazzi and now they are fake dating in the hope that she can get her ex back. The chemistry between August and Zara was insane and fake start to feel so real. I loved the story ‘Faking it with the Best Man’ by Sele Fiore. It was about a jilted bride left at the altar finding true love with the best man. Zara was left at the altar during her own wedding when the ex-girlfriend of the groom crashed the wedding and made a scene. The groom was visibly torn between the two women and backed out of the wedding. Zara wanted nothing to do with him after she was left standing at the altar as he apologized and left the church. But since he was also her business partner, she had to still be around him at work. She could have taken that but when he hired his ex, that he was now involved with again, to work at their company, it was too much. Zara was confronted by the couple at the company’s anniversary party, and she lied and told them not to worry about her because she already had a boyfriend. She walked over to where their friend was and whispered to him to play along. Then she kissed him, and, after the initial shock, he found himself happily kissing her back. August was the friend of them both although he had known Zara longer. He was now a successful, handsome movie star that was sought after by many women. He thought it was terrible what the groom did to Zara, so he was happy to play the part of her boyfriend. When his own family started to pressure him into settling down by trying to have him meet women they selected, he convinced Zara to play the part of his girlfriend around his family. She was only happy to return the favor. August started to date Zara and gallantly protected Zara from the snide attitude of her ex’s girlfriend. He kissed her often in front of the other couple and they enjoyed their time together. But Zara realized that August was a handsome movie star and could have any girl he wanted, and she was afraid she would get hurt if she took their relationship seriously. August tried to convince her that he was not a player like the press portrayed him to be, but she was cautious after having her heart recently broken. It was a wonderful story with great characters and very entertaining.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
